My list so far of ideas and helpful information for doing this 21 Day Fix right! (But, in the real world)
The more simple the better for me as far as compliance. So, I have a set list of snacks that are 21 Day Fix approved and clean eating approved as well. Because, that is what the 21 Day Fix is based off of. Clean eating WITH portion control. You can easily include prepping for snacks into a mealprep day actually. You can read more about that here. This is exactly what I do to save time and still eat clean.
In order to figure out how much food you can have, you use a simple formula. Weight * 11 – 350 gives you how many calories you can eat with the 21 Day Fix. You can then pick a meal plan to follow. For example, if you fall in between the 1,200 to 1,500 calorie a day diet, the
21 Day Fix Meal Plan will tell you exactly how many of each of the 7 containers you can have throughout the day.
The eating plan is also very family-friendly. So much so that there is now the FIXATE cookbook: 101 of Autumn’s favorite, family-friendly recipes that are even color-coded for easy tracking of containers while you’re on the program! If you have growing children in your family, you obviously won’t need to necessarily control their portions. The Fix diet does focus on clean whole foods, which we all should be eating more of.
In the end, I lost 7 inches overall and .5 pounds. I truly believe that this is because my diet already consists of all the foods they recommend and I work out one or two times per day. In fact, I actually noticed better results the week I gave up sugar. You also get a 3 day fix nutrition plan that will get you bikini ready in 72 hours, i.e. shred a lot of fat and water and make your abs flat and showing. The program recommends drinking a lot of water and tea, and allows drinking coffee as well.
A huge part of Beachbody lovers tout Shakeology. And once upon a time, I did too! Until I started getting sick almost every time I drank it. We were laughing while doing them because of how much we were struggling with, for example, the one arm row in plank position, it burned! In fact, by cutting calories without regard for nutrition, you’re likely to do even more damage.
And believe me, it IS easy if you’ve got the willpower of a padlocked steel door. Before starting, I researched a little bit, but like most other things… I dove right in. Having one set of dumbbells isn’t going to cut it for the 21 day fix workout program. Some exercises (like doing squats and lunges) will require a heavier set of dumbbells and other exercises working smaller muscles like your triceps will require a much lighter set.?I love my Tone Fitness set because it has a nice little stand to keep all of the dumbbells in place without rolling around on the floor and taking up too much space!
Challenge groups are super helpful (and fun!) because they’re filled with other girls who are all working out together, sharing tips, advice, motivation, meal planning and accountability which really helps keep you on track so that you can easily work toward your goals! I’ve done almost every single Beachbody program we have and this one just “did” it for me.
I’m not knocking the program. I’m always CAUTIOUS about diet programs that claim 10lbs in 21 days. It’s possible but it’s a sales trick, too. Just be mindful. Do the program because you want to learn to eat healthy, fresher, lift weights, and like doing it at home. Don’t do it because of promises.
I’ve done INSANITY (the original program); T25/T25Gamma; and am currently doing Insanity Max 30 month 2 day 3. I still have quite a bit of weight to lose (but also recently have thyroid issues so hopefully that will change); Would this program be something that is worth me doing next after Max 30?
The variety of the workouts is great too, 2 are cardio based, 2 are more weight focused, then there’s yoga, pilates and a combination of all the above, my favorite “Dirty 30”! I can tell you I was sore the entire first week which was awesome. I knew I was getting a good workout in!
